give me a good face

it's no longer love but he still hurts me. through everything, the newfound absence of everything i wished it could be. we cradle each other with white lies. there's no more need for big lies as he no longer loves me.
i would refuse, but i don't want to be difficult. i can hold so much when everything is so light.
and this way, we keep denying that we make mistakes.
and this way, it'll never pass.

NC queer pride

more than a few times i have wished that my rotten little town of durham, NC would
be destroyed by a fire storm.
but today something great happened. i did not know this but the entire state of north carolina
has
held its queer pride parade in my rotten little town for the last 25 years. there were hand made sign attesting to this fact taped to the light poles.
i went today and it was wonderful. there were several thousand people there and only about 20 protesters.
people just ignored them or started to dance to house music behind them. the bigoty protesters seemed sad and unenthusiastic as they had lost so badly today. they did not even make me mad as i was so exploded with the joy of queerness. for once, durham, ahem, i like you.
i saw 2 men. one was white, clearly from the country, maybe 25 at most, with a man who was black, clearly from the country, maybe 50 at the youngest. the older man was shyly holding the younger man's arm so they would not be separated in the crowd as they walked along. this was on my street. it was beautiful.

if you live in MN, HIV NEEDS YOU! for 3 minutes please

the ryan white care act, which is the top source of funding for hiv/aids treatment across the nation, it's set to expire in a little over a week.

and they're leaving a reauthorization up to be re-drafted, which could be a bad thing considering all the dumbass conservatives making noise about their health care.

the minnesota aids project put together a little thing that sends e-mails to the senators and representative of anyone's given district. i've heard these things are disregarded and just acknowledge the subject matter and keep a tally of what people are carrying on about. it could yield a-mazing results.

our senators, one of whom has been totally silent about hiv/aids and all lgbt issues at all, signed a letter urging it to get passed.
